Lazy for hire

Since my good friend Lauren called me out via blog, I was thinking about all the jobs I've had laughed to myself. Now that Kevin is eternally trapped I can share now how job non committal I've been in the past. What can I say, I get around.

Marriott- Didn't make it past the training video, and this marks my first attempt and failure of keeping a job.
Rite-Aid ice cream scooper- Finally quit after taking so many days off, like talk like a pirate day. Mortgage company telemarketer- Not so bad when you're on the other end.
Marie Callenders hostess
Norms hostess
Hollywood Video- Didn't make it past training. They were going to give me 6 hours a week. Plus I'd be working at Hollywood Video...
Pest control dispatcher- Tons of RM's, hubba hubba
Tanning salon- Old people sweat=about 2 months.
Movie theater concession stand- Quit after 1 day, I had a pretzel thrown at me. No thanks.
Lexus of Riverside- Fired! Broke my heart.
Castle Park monster- absolute best best job, I got to get all bloody and scream for hours every weekend.
Castle Park Big Top- NOT the best job, 1 day.
American Eagle- Worked there over Christmas, with the 40% discount no one got presents that year.
San Bernardino Mitsubishi- Aka San Berdu Mitsu
Mortgage company telemarketer...again- Quit after 1 day. They made me ring a bell and press a "That was easy!" button. One person said they were interested, and I hung up on them because I didn't know where to go from there.
Hollister- Didn't make it past training.
Spaghetti Factory- About 2 weeks. I hated everything.
Coffee Depot- Didn't make it past training.
Nanny
9th Street Eatery server
Ihop server
Ruby's server- The dress was fun, gaining 20 pounds over a year was not.
Denny's server- Students/homeless don't tip well.
Receptionist, not sure for what exactly- 1 day, secretly texted all day.
RCC Art Department- Laid off! Darn California.
RCC pre-school teachers assistant. This is me now :) and I'm in looove.

That comes to a grand total of 26...I think that's all.

Days to Remember (8of10)

Friday, September 18, 2009 would be the last official day of our honeymoon. Fortunately for us it would also the first bad weather day of our trip.

This is basically the only place in town to buy groceries and hot food to eat.

Avila Beach is SUCH A SMALL little beach town but was also our favorite place that we stayed on our trip. we definitely want to go back sometime.

The welcoming committee to Solvang.

A few days in and still the happiest couple in the world....

Of course we had to stop to get a quick snack to take on the road with us

Solvang was a nice place to stop by and see. It is a lot like Lake Arrowhead.

This Santa Claus lane must be where Santa keeps his beach house.

Once we got home, Erin wanted to got straight to check out what was going on.

When we finally got home, we entered into a different world.

Thanks to a few old bishopric friends and family.

CSUSB Furlough Days

This school year, CSUSB has been asked by the state to hold furlough days in which school in suspended for that day. In addition each member of faculty will have three additional furlough days in which there won't be any class. For those of you who aren't good in math, there are only twenty class sessions each quarter. This cut wipes out 25% of class periods. Who knows that in the near future they might adjust unit credits because of the disruption of total class hours

I am all about getting days of from school. However, when a business cancels days of service shouldn't you get a pro-rated rebate for the day of no service. On the contrary they are raising prices. AND if teachers really cared about teaching students, they would teach anyway on the "furlough day." Teachers are paid salary and not "by the hour." Just my two cents.....

So instead I get to take my wife to Disneyland on two extra days each quarter this school year :)

Days to Remember (3of10)

Waking up Sunday (September 13,2009) morning next to a beauty that eclipses 25 years of daybreaks. For each and every morning I get to wake with my wife at my side. It is probably the favorite moment of my day.

Because of a buddy that used to work at the Mission Inn in Riverside, the manager "'comp'ed" us up to a junior sweet. At first I was confused because the receptionist told us that we would be on the 2nd floor, when James told us we would have a mission room on the 4th floor. After taking a few steps away form the front desk, I actually turned around and inquired about why the floor change. That is when the receptionist told us what had happened. Sure enough the junior sweet was very nice and enjoyable.

The leftovers from the first night of the honeymoon.

A first breakfast and husband and wife should always be had in bed

So good!!!

A panoramic view of our room since Mission Inn Blvd is just out our window

The dress needed to be cared for because she would need to use it a week later

We kind of just skipped right by the couch and sitting room.

Leaving the next day to start our journey up the Cali coast

Erin found a new fav Diet Coke spot: The Costco in Montclair... ever been?

The central cali hills

When we arrived to SeaCrest in Pismo this is the view we found out our window

We decided to walk the beach to go dinner. Of course we kept taking photos along the way. Erin didn't take her flip flops off because the sand was cold, so instead she kept flicking sand all over the back of my legs.

We asked if we could have the swordfish above the door

They gave us one a bit more "fresh" on top of garlic mash potatoes

So good that we agreed we would come back to try one of their weekly specials

Days to Remember (5of10)

For those of you haven't noticed, we kind of went ahead and got married about a week ago. We are still waiting for our wedding pictures. In the meantime I thought it would be nice to kind of work backwards. But then I remembered that we are also waiting for our reception pictures from my cousins.
Since the past week has felt like a bunch of scrambled days for me, it would only be appropriate to randomly post the days that we do have pictures for.

So we begin with Tuesday, September 15, 2009. It was our last day at SeaCrest resort in Pismo Beach. After the huge breakfast yesterday, we decided to just checkout the free breakfast at our hotel. Basically we got toasted bagels and fruit loops. So much for a grand breakfast. Nonetheless, it was free food and did it's job. When you have a view like this for the morning, you would hardly want to get out of bed.

Just before lunch, we got out exploring and found a nice little place that we thought would be appropriate to have lunch at......

Unfortunately, the Honeymoon cafe is more of a photo op' than its reputation or menu. It was all organic stuff and veggie style menu.

As we ventured away from our failure, we used our noses to guide us to the other side of the restaurant spectrum...... Mo's BBQ.

Eating on the main drag in Pismo was nice as we always like to people watch while enjoying our food.

We often would enjoy the beginning parts of sunset in our room. Earlier in the afternoon, we had enjoyed hanging out on the beach and then soaking in our in-room hot tub.

Then we had got a few last minute pics in before....

Finding the perfect spot to take a picture at sunset....

Sunday Night, Monday Night, Tuesday Night all spent at Pismo Beach and it treated us with the perfect weather and relaxation requirements. We can't ever remember being hungry thanks to all the food around our hotel....

Watch out

Look how close our ladybugs are! Wow, just 6 more days till I kiss Hudson goodbye and become a Durr. It's been real Hudson but I'm ready for a change. I'm so so excited for everything, it has been the shortest and longest 5 months of my life, and I know I haven't always been the sweetest person to hang around but Kevin really has. I can't believe the patience he's had with me while I complain about work, school, wedding plans and everything else. I do love my Kevin Durr.

Top Ten from the last 10 (months)

It all began at a party in Glendora. I was in the backyard and she was in the front yard.

Then there, was the halloween dance. She really is a doll everyday.

Then there was falling in love over the holiday season.
New Year's Day Celebration along with the first "I love you."

The whole month of February was spent with my Valentine, especially the at beach.

March was a time of watching movies and practicing chilling next to someone I would spend the rest of my life with.

Then there was......

Sometimes we fight with fruit and find that fruit is very messy to fight with.

In June we discovered that you can do anything better than me.

Our first mini vacation together going to Palm Springs in July

August was waiting in the celestial room to see my future bride for the first time in the greatest place on earth
