Giving in to Ryan's Home Run Derby

A while back you might have read about one of our good friends, Ryan, was trying to acquire a baseball bat and baseballs to have our own little home-run derby. Well, eventually that would mean that we would have to actually go out in the heat and hit some balls around. It actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Just have to remember what is the current "correct" way to wear a hat.

According to Erin this isn't quite the correct way.

Juan and I kind of by happen chance color coordinated that day.

Captain wrong side of the plate

She looks so cute choking the bat.

Always smiling even if she did miss the ball.

Summer Heat Black and White

Last week, Erin wanted to meet up with some family friends in Palm Springs. The Fousts have had a condo in Palm Springs for a number of years and this year they invited us to tag along. Sure enough, the temperature in Palm Springs in the middle of July is plenty hot enough.
The temperature reading from my bro's truck. Luckily, we could start the truck from inside and have the inside cooled off. Now if we can just figure out a why to cool off the walk from the door to the car.
Quick shot on the street.

A rare glimpse of Erin in pig tails. RARE

We were told that everyone gets out for a stroll along market night. Nevermind that it was still over 100 degrees at 8 when we wondered the streets looking for free mister stations; only the water evaporates before it even gets to your face.

Erin going through a brain freeze attack from ice cream.
We spent most the trip trying to stay cool with A/C on full blast in the condo or in the pool early in the morning or late at night. The pool water actually gets too hot, unbearable by 10 o'clock or so. All in all, it was a great vacation to get away for an overnight trip and Erin LOVED to hang out with her "adoptive mormon" parents.

Somehow I didn't stay 22 forever like I had planned. To celebrate Kevin took this grandma out for her birthday. He took me out to my favorite restaurant, Yard House. We didn't try the yard long beers though. Maybe next time.

Next stop: Disneyland. The only place you get a button on your birthday and the employees have to say happy birthday. Happy birthday count: 1. Rude Disney worker count:3

Black and White.

My favorite ride.
I had the best birthday. Kevin got me scriptures that will soon have my new and improved name on them. Kevin, his family, and my family all made me feel so special. I'm a very very lucky 23 year old girl.

Date Night - Competition

Since Kevin is busy taking my math test online I guess I'll blog.
The other night we went on a DATE! With work/school/wedding business we hadn't been on a date while. Unless watching Deadliest Catch and eating pizza counts as a date :)

We started off at Panera (yum) and then went over to Fiesta Village to play mini golf and laser tag. Spoiler alert: I beat him at both. Badly.
Lining up a shot.

Totally random, they gave us our wedding colors. And by random I mean Kevin picked out yellow and purple.

The first game I won. Not to mention, but I am right now, I got a hole in one at the 18th hole. I had to make it down a tiny ramp, PAST a ball that was stuck in the way, and through a rotating wagon wheels that only had 2 spaces in it. Amazing.

Then I beat Kevin at laser tag 33 to 11. At least I was really humble about it.

Fun fun fun night. It's not very often that Kevin Durr loses...twice...in a row.

Wedding Registry

A few weeks ago we went to Target to start registering for the wedding. Little did I realize how much Erin really, really like to call Target her second home. Before we went in we grabbed some Juice It Up drinks and then started on our journey.
Of course, Erin took the scanning gun first because she had been dreaming about this opportunity for a VERY long time. We had no idea what we needed to register for so we just started browsing around the Kitchen area. Soon enough we were aisle by aisle deep in stuff that we needed (wanted) and started to decipher through the numerous options available.
Some couples warned me of little disputes occurring when registering but Erin and I had a good time. I started to fade around the second hour mark and we left feeling pretty confident that we got only things that we would need.
Mother and friends still suggest going to Bed Bath and Beyond because they will have more of a bathroom selection with colors. Erin said I can't look at the registry to see what we are getting like Nathan did and I had to promise that I wouldn't.
