Long Day without any pictures

Today, I started out while Erin was taking command of the entire bed still asleep. First thing up on the agenda was participating in a service project for my ward.

We were assigned to paint structures at a local park.  As I rolled up at 8:30, to my surprise there were over 100  people already busy working away. I thought the event started at 8:00 "Mormon time" which meant people would be showing up around 8:30 too. I picked up a roller, and painted for about an hour. Meet a few people, but left early because of other things to do. 

Next up, was attending an induction ceremony for The Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau. 

As an inductee you get to attend a fancy little lunch reception an Cast Aways restaurant in San Bernardino. Kind of a long luncheon, but hopefully it will help me network for future possibilities. A presenter at the event showed this interesting video.

After the luncheon, I had a little time to spare before going out to eat for Mother's Day/Mom's BDay. The Mexico is one of Mom's favorites....

That's right you heard it here first. Unless you already knew...then you heard it here second. I'm almost 14 weeks now and here are some 13 week pictures that I think are beyond wonderful, but I promise I won't be too annoying.

1st Easter

Our first Easter Sunday together we surprised each other with baskets.

Erin hid whole basket, while I only hid her eggs. I couldn't remember

from the night before where I hid one and Erin couldn't find it either.

We tried to get over to the parents place as quick as we could which
meant we got there around eleven. We watched a little general
conference with Dad and had some waffles for lunch.

Then it was off to Grandmas for the family Easter thing. That was a
lot of fun though we were missing some people.

Easter came and went but everyday we are always grateful for the
Savior and His resurrection.

Auto Trader

After 5 years of trustworthy service, I was presented with an offer I couldn't refuse. So I have to say good bye to my 4runner (for now)....

Because traded for a 1999 Camry with ONLY 30,000 miles from a 95 y/o man. 

Our next car purchase will be a 4Runner again... Hopefully a newer one around the time I finish grad school if not sooner ;) I knowToyota is going through a low period, but hopefully these deals last at least through the year.

Easter Sneak

The wife claimed "dibs" on posting about Easter, so I am sneaking a post in.

We took a few pictures and had a good time with family. Hopefully she can find some time to get around to it once we try to do our "miracle 3 hour" move tomorrow morning. 

I'd like to thank myself, of course, and all the little people...

So i went to Ralphs the other day and this poor unfortunate soul asked if he could wash my windows. I only had a 10 on me so I politely declined (no!) and went about my business. My heart softened a little in the bread isle so I went back outside and gave him my $10. I showed him to my car and went back inside.

While pushing my cart around I felt pretty good. More than good...proud. Then I started to feel like Mother Teresa, I'm just so full of good deeds and cheer. I could have bought cute tights/del taco with that money, but no, I'm selfless. Not to mention humble. By the time I reached the checkout I was patting myself on the back and thinking up my acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I sauntered out to my car and...my windows weren't washed! That bum took my money and ran.

And that is what you get for feeling like Mother Teresa.

Graduating Nursing School

This past Saturday, I finally made it through nursing school. The ceremony started off with some audiovisual problems, but the event was still a success. It was so hard for me to sit back and not to help out.

That's because I was a little more worried about a speech. I was asked to go for three minutes. I had prepared a single paragraph that I somehow stretched out into almost two minutes.

I got pinned by the teacher I had three times throughout the program. Luckily she liked my class and made things a little easier.

I was surprised with the department award of "Outstanding Leadership." I have to thank Erin for allowing me to lend some of my free time to extra-cirruclar nursing activities.

What's next? Graduate school in the Fall if I can get all my paperwork in on time. Oh yeah, also that test that just says if I can work as a licensed nurse.
